With summer quickly approaching, we are all in search of ways to cool down. Clearly you could lounge around an air-conditioned house all day, but it is nice to get out and enjoy the weather as much as possible. One great way to do this is to get a gazebo. This structure can provide you with shade along with a place to sit and drink ice tea on a hot summer day.

If Ice tea doesn't suit you, you might enjoy an adult beverage instead. When the weather gets hot, all you need is a blender and a set of freezable cups to create a variety of slushy drinks.

You can create both alcoholic and non-alcoholic depending on who is drinking. There are a good number of fruit based drinks that can be wonderful for your kids as well. There is a wide range of syrups you can get, from fruity flavors to bubble gum. You can increase your variety of flavors by using coffee syrups as well.

Another favorite cool treat for the summer is ice cream. This actually is very easy to do with the right equipment. With an ice cream maker or by hand with some rock salt, ice, and freeze bags.

There are a number of great ice cream makers out there along with a great number of recipes. An outstanding book of recipes is Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream and Dessert book.

It will also inspire you to try to create your own flavors.

Another great tip is slicing up fruit thinly and freezing it. Both watermelon and grapes are outstanding and refreshing when frozen. Kids will love the cool temperature and the sweet flavors. Try some of these tips this summer to stay cool.
