New York City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world - and not just for people from other countries, but for Americans as well - but one mistake many people make when visiting New York City is that they go with a general list of the things they want to make sure they see and do, and they give themselves no additional plans or details beyond this. When you visit New York City, however, it will be important that you have more behind your plans than simply "what you want to see and do"; additionally, you will want to have in your plans exactly how you should see and do these things!

When you are in New York City, a couple of the things you are likely to want to see are Central Park and the interior of the city itself; because Central Park and the main streets of the city are both so high on many tourists' lists, however, you will typically find nothing but tourists in these places if you visit them later in the day. Because of this, the best plan for seeing Central Park and the interior of the city is to get out early in the morning - rising with both the sun and the locals - as this will give you a chance to see the city as the locals see it, rather than as the tourists see it!

When most of the tourists are flocking to Central Park and wandering the main streets of the city in the daytime is the time when you should plan to visit all the museums you are hoping to see, as you will deal with smaller crowds in these areas than you would by trying to do other things in the city.

And of course, everyone needs to see Broadway and Times Square when they visit New York City, and the best time to see these sights is at night - but at the same time, realize that your visit to this part of the city will likely be most rewarding if you go to them on a weeknight (rather than on a weekend night), as this will give you slightly smaller crowds, and an increased opportunity for fun!
